…dizzying adjusting…

rusty intro copy

Otway living1

…sooooo looong since appearing…adjusting from one hemisphere to the distinct seasonal changes of another…from the bliss and serenity of Madinatun Nabi to a lifestyle of abundance of a different hue…oh the colour…akin to wandering in Allah Ta’ala’s Lush and Luxurious Gallery… reflecting myriads of His Subhanahu wa Ta’ala Majesty over and over and over…and over again…yes…a dizzying adjusting on every level of being…which will inevitably continue regardless of where one finds oneself…and yes…the heart knows where it would rather be…and where it is constantly making Dua for a return but, Alhumdulillah, we are slaves, willing to submit to the will of the Most Benevolent Master Who knows exactly where it is best for us to be…

Otway living14

…after so long of being away from a place where the changing seasons and a rural environment are so pronounced the senses have been treated to unbelievable delights…the bird song is a symphony like no other…the perfumes intoxicating…the subtle changes from an intense summer  scorching the earth to the sublime autumnal chills and shifts embracing and invigorating all in its path…

Otway living15

…a wild rumpus of summer harvest exploded around us…fruits and vegetables to be preserved, jammed, transformed into winter stocks of relish and chutneys, pickles, sauces…a lemon tree that sagged with thousands of delicious offerings…so many given away…so much yummy lemon butter shining in jars…an ancient apple tree gifting us kilos upon kilos of fruit…even after the cockies partook of their rizq…and figs…the biggest figs I have ever seen…it was a mad dash competing with other fig lovers…including the fruit bats!!…how amazing is Allah Ta’ala’s Makhlooq SubhanAllah…

…and the bees!!! no one was more surprised than us when we weighed the last harvest at 18kg of their golden nectar…SubhanAllah!!!!…we still have one more box to rob within the next week or so before we leave these wondrous creatures at peace during winter where they will use so much energy to maintain the temperature of the hive at a constant 37 degrees…how humbling they make one feel…SubhanAllah…

…being in a milder climate the ability to return to crafting brings joy…Insha’Allah more details in another post…hopefully not too far in the future…

Otway living3

…this super friendly alpaca likes to wander to the quirky coffee/mountain bike Corner Shop ‘around the corner’ entertaining with her cheeky antics…she recently became a mama…to a super cute lanky little one…

Otway living4

…and I have joined the local Country Women’s Association wowie…spent last weekend baking and then serving at a country fair…it was beautiful…all so accepting of an unusual woman in niqab…truly liberating…

Otway living17

…due to the remote location we are in the internet is woeful…as is evident by the months of silence here…a degree of acceptance is mostly endured…but also times of frustration…plans are in progress at a community level attempting to force the provider into action…Insha’Allah issues are being addressed…Alhumdulillah today the company is giving all subscribers a free day of data due to an outage they recently encountered…hence the ability to post this little update…

Otway living6

…’around the corner’…SubhanAllah!!!!

Otway living13

…and without outlining details…medical procedures have been time consuming and are still ongoing…Alhumdulillah for an efficient and caring system…

…colourful additions to the daily salads…

Otway living5

…the sunburnt summer harvest from several weeks ago…now Allah Ta’ala is changing the dead earth to a verdant green…though drought conditions prevail…the worst recorded for decades…the evidence of this is not as drastic right here…only a few kilometers away farmers are desperate…Insha’Allah Dua for beneficial rain where it is needed across the globe…

Otway living18

…’around the corner’…stunning…SubhanAllah…

Otway living12

…and the greatest tidings of the Dunya kind would have to be that we are to be GRANDPARENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so many little girl creations flying off the sticks…after an eleven year wait this blessed news spins the heart in a spiraling dance…

…so…all in all…these are some of the ‘excuses’ for this dizzying adjusting and a prolonged absence from sitting behind a screen…Insha’Allah your understanding, but more importantly your forgiveness is sent this way…

…I am still overwhelmed by the love and thoughts so many of you convey…my Du’a will never cease to mention so many of you…Insha’Allah a ‘behind the scenes’ email will be sent soon…

…may whatever dizzying adjusting we experience…or may experience be accompanied with love and gratitude for all the amazing bounties Allah Ta’ala is constantly blessing us with Ameen…

…O Allah Ta’ala, bestow Your Mercy upon our leader Muhammad SallAllahu alaihi wasallam, Your bondsman, Your Nabi, Your messenger, the unlettered Nabi and upon his wives and his offspring and bestow peace, as numerous as the number of Your creation and according to Your pleasure and as limitless as the ink of Your immortal words Ameen…

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.
