Everyone here has gardens with corn, tomatoes, beans, etc. You have to go to the city for the farmers market although they have started one in the parking lot of the high school on Saturday mornings only two or three vendors…:)
My husband and sister in law have a “small” garden in the holler over on my father in laws farm. If it makes I’ll be canning till I drop!
I’ve been trying to stay out of the sun because I had skin cancer but I’ve put out some tomatoes and cucumbers and things by my kitchen door……….

Dearest Chitra, prayers for your health and ta muchly for this insight into life over there…I do so miss gardening, farming, preserving, spinning and generally living in nature. All Praise to God that I had such a time enjoying such things earlier in my life, but the taste never leaves one 🙂

Assalamu alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
      Dearest Mumtaz,
can’t ever see you slipping with a big nafs problem…I am sure all your shopping is for others knowing your Ikram status 🙂
And it is still the only flesh consumed LOL!! But how I used to love that MACHLI man on his bike with nothing but the best of fish, a big dangerous knife and block of wood…him squatting on the road hacking the fish into chunks…wonder if you still have men coming around the streets selling things?
      Insha’Allah see you soon 🙂

Assalamu alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
      Dear Fayrooz,
Masha’Allah it is always heartening to know of families who are home educating, May Allah Ta’ala’s assistance be there in every day, Ameen.
There are several posts in the ‘rainbow’ category relevant to kids. Insha’Allah you can incorporate them, and Alhumdulillah for some posts already being of benefit. Oh to have the energy to get more out that floats around this feeble brain 🙂
Love and Salams to you all ‘down the road’
      Wassalamu alaikum
