…of asteroids…halos…devotion…

makkah Sept 2014a

…the swirling mesmerizes…the gentle murmur transfixes…the circling humbles…an earthly asteroid belt of devotees orbiting around the House…a sparkling halo of dhikr…devotion…submission…

makkah Sept 2014b

…as the Ottoman domes whirl as dervishes…

makkah Sept 2014c

…part of the constant spin…

…until spiraling into oblivion…

makkah Sept 2014e

…dust…souls…dancing a fanaa dance…annihilation…destined to be rubble of ego death…

makkah Sept 2014f

…shattered shards of deceiving prisms…

makkah Sept 2014g

…crunch under souls stretching…

…towards soothing sound waves of crystal bowls singing…as we aim to mimic the obedience of the asteroids speeding as a shimmering halo around the One…

…O Unveiler of everything veiled…strip away the curtains of fog and delusion…strip away ugliness…grab those who have strayed…inject our Tawqa and Iman with Your Presence…

makkah Sept 2014j

Look — I do nothing; He performs all deeds

And He endures the pain when my heart bleeds.

When He draws near and grants you an audience

Should you hang back in tongue-tied diffidence?

When will your cautious heart consent to go

Beyond the homely boundaries you know?

O slave, if He should show His love to you,

Love which His deeds perpetually renew,

You will be nothing, you will disappear —

Leave all to Him who acts, and have no fear.

If there is any “you”, if any wraith

Of self persists, you’ve strayed outside our faith.

Farid ud-Din Attar Rahmatullahi alaihi

I saw that His remembering of me preceded my remembrance of Him, that His knowledge about me preceded my knowledge of Him, that His love towards me was more ancient than my love towards Him, and that He sought me in order that I would begin to seek Him

Ya Allah, how long this “You” and “I” remain between You and I. Take this “I” from me so all that remains is “You”. Ya Allah, when I am with You I am greater than all; when I am without You I am nothing. Ya Allah, my poverty took me to You and Your blessings protected my poverty.

…italics: Tayfur Abu Yazid al Bistami Rahmatullahi alaihi

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

    Dear Sister,
Your description “Ottoman domes whirl as dervishes… ” now you mention it, they certainly look like Dervish robes mid whirl. Masha Allah so very descriptive, and both being Turkish makes it even more amazing.
    Was salaam.

Insha Allah they will be reinstated when the Ottoman porticos will be built as part of the Mataf Expansion project, they have just started on the porticos recently, so we shall have to wait with baited breath. Wassalaam

Assalamu alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
          Dear Abu Arifa,
but so many of them have been smashed to pieces or mutilated to insert the supports for the circular mutaf. Insha’Allah they are able to restore and incorporate.
          Wassalamu alaikum
