…gardeners of hope…

…what does one say…Alhumdulillah ‘ala kulli hal…still…words seem to be stuck in a brain of sludge…bashing and crashing down is seen in every direction…immediately around the Haram as well as creeping out into the surrounding districts…in every direction…areas inundated with bulldozers roaring and devouring as monsters starved of food…war torn zone scenes pock the landscape…yes, not one dust mote swirls without Allah Ta’ala’s command…we mere mortals can only marvel at His Qudrat…His Hikmah…but still witnessing this constant rapid and massive change…hearing and knowing of so many stories of those displaced…of the ruthless property investors and landlords gleefully welcoming the mega injection of inflated funds from the thousands forced from homes…still…the heart refuses to remain unaffected…

…the tranquil garden of Saqeefa is a balm against the giddying erasure …Allahu ‘Alum what is written for this tiny patch of serenity…the huge test is how we nurture and tend a huge patch of serenity in the heart…weeding away the angst of what the gaze falls on as bricks and mortar tumble…and thus we must succumb to HOPE…to rely on the excellence of Allah Ta’ala’s decree…then Insha’Allah we do not wish for anything other than that which He has written…

Hope…the attachment of the heart to something loved that may occur in the future…hope arises because of something to which one looks forward…the livelihood and freedom of hearts is through hope…

Hope is seeing Majesty with the eye of Beauty.

Hope is the joy of the innermost heart at the goodness of the hereafter.

Hope is to regard the breadth of God’s mercy.

Hope is to rejoice in the existence of His grace.

Hope is the heart’s finding rest in seeing the generosity of the hoped-for Beloved.

…finally…after years of standing as a dormant never completed project…this empty shell is reverberating from the onslaught of the wreckers…

…the collapsing and crumbling of each passing day sends a booming rumble to the soul…take heed…seek the bigger picture…cling to HOPE…all is temporary…all will vanish…nothing on the face of the earth will remain…how deep is the truth of Allah Ta’ala’s Speech?…how deep is the reality of the Hadith telling us to be like the traveller sitting under a tree?…

…the ubiquitous blue barrier extends along the length of the doomed skeleton …Allahu ‘Alum how long the two exhibitions that made excellent use of this hollow shell will remain open…and Allahu ‘Alum if the walkways connecting to western hotels will function…

Upon Your doorstep my burden’s dropped

I don’t dwell on anxieties that once weighed me down

My straits have faded, my joy’s expanded

It’s all changed to hope what once made me frown.

If you see Allah as the true actor in everything

You see everything in existence as beautiful.

The Book of Illumination

…may we all strive without swerving and be diligent with nourishing HOPE in the heart…Ameen…

…off to dig..plant..water…harvest…Insha’Allah…propagate…share…dig…plant…water…harvest…may our gardening of hope never cease while we have breath…Ameen…

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

Humans have been made such that without hope they will despair. And the beauty of Islam is that as believers we are forever clinging onto the hope of Jannah – and subhanAllah that makes even the most testing of hardships an opportunity of joy for mumin, in the hope that at the end of all this lies eternal reunion with their true Beloved (SWT).

Much prayers and love for you and your loved ones, and endless durood for HabibAllah sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam.
