…fire…

Madinah reminders of The Fire1

…the sight of blackened remains of fires is not uncommon as one wanders the older residential areas of Madinatun Nabi…but when such a drama is under the kitchen window the reality of THE FIRE suddenly sinks to a deeper level…

Madinah reminders of The Fire2

…Alhumdulillah civil defense services were prompt attending to this emergency…and Alhumdulillah there were no injuries…nevertheless loss of property would be distressing and emotionally stressful…

Madinah reminders of The Fire3

…we hear alarms in this Dunya…sirens or yelling voices to alert us of danger…but no such warnings are heard or visible alerting us of the severity that Allah Ta’ala has prepared in the Akhirah…no longer can we sit, as the Sahabah RadhiAllahu anhum did, with our Beloved Messenger SallAllahu alaihi wasallam hearing first hand of the horrors and torment…we can read, or listen to scholars while Insha’Allah vicariously feeling the intensity of Jahannam…for a moment imagine sitting on the rubble ground of Masjid Nabawi, the Ahlul Suffah gathered around, hushed as our Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam answers their query as to what was that strange sound they all heard…imagine hearing directly from our Noble Nabi SallAllahu alaihi wasallam that it was a stone hitting the sides of Jahannam having sped down to this bottomless pit of pus and screaming for the past seventy years!!!..imagine hearing first hand the description of Saqar (74:26-29)…it devours everything…darkening and changing the colour of man…or the sheer scale of the sparks being the size of palaces…or of yellow camels…(77:32-33)…food of an obnoxious thorny plant (88:6-7)…

…imagine hearing first hand the melodious and eloquent voice of the best of creation SallAllahu alaihi wasallam, a voice described by Umm Ma’bad ‘as if his speech consisted of threaded pearls’…listen as he reads verses of Divine Speech…

...fear the Fire whose fuel is men and stones… (2:24)

…The Tree of Zaqqum… a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire. The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils… they will be given a mixture made of boiling water… (37:62-68).

Verily, the tree of deadly fruit will be the food of the sinful. Like molten lead will it boil in the belly, like the boiling of burning despair  (44:43-46).

…he is given, for drink, boiling fetid water  (14:16)

…on the authority of Abdullah ibn Mas’ud who heard the Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam say…Hell will be brought forth that Day by means of seventy thousand ropes, each of which will be held by seventy thousand Angels…(Muslim) only Allah Ta’ala knows the power and might of His Angels…but we can try to imagine the vastness of this terrifying Hell-fire requiring such a huge number of strong and powerful Angels…

…and…the Fire of Hell is as if sixty-nine equal portions were added to fire as we know it...(Bukhari)…do we wish to fill our bellies with such a fire?…

…volumes are there for us to reflect upon…to be read over and over so the reality of Allah Ta’ala’s creation and the severity of this Abode of Hell is deeply etched upon us…so our thoughts and actions and dealings and time upon this realm is making efforts to avoid all that is clearly made evident…

Madinah reminders of The Fire4

…the result of what a nearby shop keeper said was due to an electrical fault…Allahu Alum…this was a huge warehouse style store in our locality…totally destroyed within a few short moments…

Madinah reminders of The Fire5

…the aftermath reveals this antiquated fire fighting system…all around it is charred and blackened but it remains as an intact museum piece…how reliable is our ‘fire-fighting equipment’?…Insha’Allah check it NOW…and keep it maintained…

Ya Allah protect us from the chastisement of the Fire.

Ya Allah save us from the torment of the Fire.

Ya Allah guard us against the punishment of the Fire.

Ya Allah I seek refuge in You from the affliction of the Fire.

Ya Allah shield us against the horrors of the Fire.

Our Lord! We have indeed believed: forgive us our wrong actions and safeguard us from the punishment of the Fire (3:16)
