…Eidul Fitr 1435…

Eidul fitr 1435 Madinah1

…throngs of Angels have returned to the ‘Arsh…Jibreel Alahis Salam has been called back…the Shayateen are on the loose and already testing how much we can retain our Ramadhan Ibadah…nafs are back to pestering and tempting…we need to be alert and strong…in combat mode fighting and protecting our worship after the blessed month of heightened focus and training, Insha’Allah…

…the above photo was taken before Tahajjud time on the day of Eid in the dark alley way near our home that joins Quba Street…the local Masjid is on the left…in previous years to leave at this time ensured sisters could reach the northern area with ease…because negotiating through the southern courtyard as brothers begin filling the Saf is difficult…but this year the crowds seemed denser and gathering earlier SubhanAllah…

…it was as if people were floating on Angel’s Wings towards Masjid Nabawi…this speck went with a neighbour and her two young boys who attend Tafidh classes in Haram…we gifted them money to put in their top pockets for their Eid along with wads of small notes for them to hand out to cleaners who traditionally line the streets…they truly are the heroes…(more to follow Insha’Allah) …to see these two little boys scampering and skipping as they wove their way through the crowds so joyfully handing out money was moving…after they had finished the funds allocated for the cleaners we asked then if they wanted to multiply their Eid money and to be deposited in their account in Jannah by hundreds and hundreds or more as much as Allah Ta’ala wished…tears filled my eyes when they both ran to find the next cleaner to gift their Eid money…SubhanAllah!!!

…the Sabireen…Tahajjud Adhan had not yet been called…SubhanAllah…

Eidul fitr 1435 Madinah4

…after Fajr as Tabir was being made while waiting for Eid Salat the spectacle of the closing umbrellas was entertainment…Arabic coffee and dates were being handed out by so many…balloons kept little ones occupied…helium ones soaring into the sky…much to the distress of those who lost them and could do nothing but watch their Hello Kitty or Little Mermaid or Spiderman and Songe Bob etc soar off with the pigeons…seemed a metaphor for the Dunya…

…it was impossible to contemplate leaving the courtyard before at least one hour after Salat…sisters still a dense crowd long after Salat…

…the entire periphery fence had become a storage place for the thousands sitting in Itikaf…as the crowds finally began to disperse after more than two hours after Salat brothers were coming to retrieve their humble belongings…

Eidul fitr 1435 Madinah11

…for the huge expat community of brothers working in the Kingdom without families Eid is a time to gather and spend the days relaxing with friends…

…SubhanAllah…a majestic sight as one turned the corner…usually the umbrellas are open at this time of the morning so a clear view of the Dome of Felicity from this eastern side made the heart skip a few beats…

He attained exaltation by his perfection.
He dispelled darkness by his beauty.
Beauteous are all his qualities,
Benediction be on him and on his family.

O Allah! Bestow blessings on Sayyidina Muhammad,
who is the best among Prophets sent by You
and the most noble among Your chosen people,
the leader of the saints, and the Seal of the Prophets,
and the beloved of the Lord of the Worlds,
a witness for the Messengers of Allah (on the Day of Judgement)
and the intercessor for sinners,
the leader of all the children of Prophet Adam Alayhissalaam;
whose rememberance has been exalted among the highest angels,
who brings glad tidings (of heaven) and warns (against hell-fire),
a shining light, truthful, trustworthy, manifest truth,
most kind and merciful, the guide to the straight path,
whom You gave the seven often-repeated verses of Surah Fatiha
and the magnificent Qur’an,
the Prophet of mercy and the guide of the nation,
the first one to be resurrected and to enter paradise,
and one who is supported by angels Jibril and Meekaail,
whose coming had been foretold in the Torah and the Bible,
Mustafa, Mujtaba, the selected one, the father of Qasim,
Muhammad, son of ‘Abdillah, son of ‘Abdil Muttalib, son of Hashim.

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

Great expressions must have derived from genuine heart and mind produced by religious contemplation… May Allah always pour us with His direction and guidance in “retrieving” the essential messages given along with ability to apply them in our daily life. My deep appreciation for your generous care for us…

Assalamu alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa BArakatuhu,
      Dear Brother Hisham,
Ameen thumma Ameen. We are certainly at a time when we are so desperate for Allah Ta’ala’s direction and guidance. May we never cease to be begging Him for this, and never cease to be working on purifying our heart to allow Him in, Ameen.
      Wassalamu alaikum
