Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Habibullah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam, streets of madinah

Awali Madinah 2015 march1

…it was not intended to be ‘away’ for this long…but a wealth of exciting ‘behind the scenes’ flurry of activities kept this humble ‘on the run’ speck away from screens…Alhumdulillah…with a spot of a spontaneous burst around Awali…a much loved place that had not been visited in a while…a few years back when Khala was there, running the little Madrassah, walks across the dust bowl were regular…but with Khala and Chacha now further away in a newer area of Madinatun Nabi the option of walking is not possible…

Awali Madinah 2015 march2

…Alhumdulillah we were able to meet during this past week…please make special Du’a for them…especially those of you who have met personally…Chacha is fading and Khala is faced with many tests too…this is their old alley way now…like so much of Awali, residents have left and what were homes for decades are being gutted ready to be returned to dust…

Awali Madinah 2015 march3

…a mixture of bitter sweet emotions course through the veins and hit the heart…

…but then the realization that regardless of what happens all is as decreed and long ago written by The Pen according to Allah Ta’ala’s Hikmah…

Awali Madinah 2015 march5

…with every dust mote being a witness to all that has unfolded upon this ancient ground…

Awali Madinah 2015 march6

…people relocate…thousands of years moving over the road to Jannatul Baqi Masha’Allah…but the current exodus is to places further away from Masjid Nabawi, which is heartbreaking for the elderly, who have spent their life so close to our Beloved Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam…

Awali Madinah 2015 march18

…every detail has a tale to tell…SubhanAllah Allah Ta’ala knows all…

…with each dusty step this earth seemed to resonate…sharing its secrets through a wordless vibration…

…the decrepit buildings sing particular stories of births deaths and all facets of life in between…walls hum and vacated windows whistle a shrill refrain…

…our beloved Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam trod this area…

Awali Madinah 2015 march10

…Awali was one of the first places the Muhajireen were paired with the Ansar brothers…many lived, worked, married, had families here…history…struggles…sacrifices…imprinted in the dust and floating in the air particles…an honour walk with every breath…

Awali Madinah 2015 march11

…trends have faded from memories…new ones temporarily appear…

…Allah ‘Alum if this little masjid will exist next week? next month?…

Awali Madinah 2015 march13

…subdued tones and textures bleached by summers of scorching heat…by the same sun that rises and sets…and will till the End of Time on whatever may be planned to replace what we see now…

…the rooftop from this 2008 post…the home to exiled in a form of exile to an outer suburb…

…compare the landscape of cranes today to the wall of hotels then in the above link…

…the Darul Hadith school no longer resonates with repetitive boys’ voices singeing minds with words of Hadith and Qur’an…replaced with the pummeling of hammers and screeching of trucks transporting bricks and mortar to who knows where…

Awali Madinah 2015 march16

…as the shattering of glass and mirrors from the major pharmacy that was underneath the school adds to the cacophony…

…Awali is resonating with the rhythm of this rapid change…as is Madinatun Nabi…but the glory of the constant fragrance and serenity of our Liegelord, the Prince of this place of radiance and light SallAllahu alaihi wasallam is permanent…Paradise resonates in Madinah al-Munawwarah but there is no al-Madinah al-Munawwarah in Paradise…SubhanAllah!!!…may our hearts forever resonate with a pure and undying love for our Beloved SallAllahu alaihi wasallam regardless of the changes that  are vying for our focus and attention…Ameen…

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

Assalamu alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
      Dearest Sister Saimah and family,
Interesting you say that these old streets remind you of your dear nani as we often remark how so much of village life in the Sub Continent is like old Madinah, and vice versa.
Actually my presence here compared to years ago is very scant. So much is happening that occupies my time these days, Alhumdulillah.
Insha’Allah you are recovered and been gifted a Shifaa Kaamil, Ameen.
      Wassalamu alaikum

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Alhamdulillah that you are back, sister :),
Jazakimullahu khayran for allowing me into those beautiful memories and thoughts you have described above – at once it looks sadly neglected and like a normal street from somewhere in the world but at the same time there is such a radiance and nur emanating from it which reminds me there is no other place such as Medina in existence, subhanAllah.
A place where our beloved Messenger sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam and his blessed Companions radhiAllahu anhum might have walked those very streets we are looking upon now. SubhanAllah!

Juma’ah Mubarak! We had a blessed Juma’ah here in the UK with a solar eclipse – masha’Allah such a profound sign of the power of Alah SWT, He took away the sunlight so easily and He has power over such huge things. So profound.
