…’Ashura…time for excessive sincere knocking…

By In

rusty intro copy

…time for reminders…time for reflecting on Allah Ta’ala’s Generosity and Greatness…time for acting upon our noble tradition…time for excessive sincere knocking on Allah Ta’ala’s Doors of Mercy…time to know that Allah Ta’ala’s Bounties are unlimited and His Nusrah, His Help is at hand in all situations and circumstances…if only we can be diligent with knocking…especially during these Mubarak days and nights He has blessed us with as wake-up calls…seek these windows that open upon rich rewards…

Whatever anyone has achieved throughout the days and nights that has not increased them in reflection and gratitude has missed the purpose and fundamental wisdom for which these days and nights were created and for which mankind was created.

We witness the passing of time and the alternation of seasons and changes and events. Things which are agreeable to us; things which are unpleasant – all of which test us. We witness the passing away of those who live alongside, some of it expected, some of it unexpected. All of this is by the decree of the All-Powerful Sovereign.

If these feelings were alive in the hearts of the Umma all causes of evil inward and outward would be blocked and the Umma would be safe from every tribulation. The level of tribulation in which we find ourselves is according to our deficiency in our love for Allah and His Chosen One.

…’Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas RadhiAllahu anhu said: “When the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam fasted on ‘Ashura’ and commanded the Muslims to fast as well, they said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, it is a day that is venerated by the Jews and Christians.’ The Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam said, ‘If I live to see the next year, Insha’Allah, we will fast on the ninth day too.’ But it so happened that the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam passed away before the next year came.” Sahih Muslim…

…The Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam said: “For fasting the day of ‘Ashura’, I hope that Allah will accept it as expiation for the year that went before.” Sahih Muslim.  How Kareem is Allah Ta’ala’s bounty towards us… exchanging one day of fasting for one whole year of expiation of sins…SubhanAllah!!! And Allah Ta’ala is the Owner of Great Bounty…

…Ibn ‘Abbas RadhiAllahu anhu said: “The Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam came to Madinah and saw the Jews fasting on the day of ‘Ashura’. He said, ‘What is this?’ They said, ‘This is a righteous day, it is the day when Allah saved the Children of Israel from their enemies, so Musa alaihis Salam fasted on this day.’ He said, ‘We have more right to Musa alaihis Salam than you,’ so he fasted on that day and commanded the Muslims to fast on that day.” Sahih Bukhari…

…It is also the day that most scholars agree upon when Allah Ta’ala settled the Ark on Mount Judi saving Nuh alaihis Salam and his people…Allah Ta’ala’s shows us His signs of Him saving His followers in such dire circumstances…may He through our efforts save His people who to this day also face dire circumstances…we all need to be making efforts…we all need to be improving our relationship to Islam and to strengthening our Iman…how persistent will you be knocking on Allah Ta’ala’s Doors of Mercy these Mubarak days???…Insha’Allah the sounds of sincere knocking reverberate throughout the world Ameen…

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.
