Allah’s Messenger SallAllahu alaihi wassalam said: "Peace be upon you, O abode of believers. What you were promised will come to pass tomorrow at a fixed time. We shall, Allah willing, soon join you. O Allah! Grant forgiveness to the people who are buried in al-Baqi’ al-Gharqad." (Muslim)
And: "I am the first for whom the Earth will burst open, then Abu Bakr and then Umar. I shall then come to those who are buried in al-Baqi’ and they will be gathered along with me. After that I shall wait for the people of Mecca so as to be gathered among the inhabitants of the two sacred cities." (Tirmidhi)
As gnarled scattered beads from a broken tasbih,
Strewn sentinels of golden nuggets
Guard the veil of fragrant dust
Delineating
Barzakh
From a suffocating marbled glitz
Housing drowsy souls.
Drunk on Dunya’s delusions.
Dense clouds of silver wings flutter.
Patterning a polished copper sky
With glints of pearly shell.
Ethereal symphonies
Enchant
As Angels cavort with feathered wanderers.
Swooping in unison to kiss
The blessed dwellers.
Swathed in musk and garlands.
Sipping inebriating wines
Fermeted from pious deeds.
Blissfully awaiting.
Blissfully awaiting
The Trumpet Blast.
Arousing the slumbering.
The Day souls unfurl
As petals blossoming
From rain-like dew.
New bodies rising
To the examination day of secrets.
Gazes transfixed on Mushaffa’,
The One Granted Intercession.
Brightness Itself.
A brilliance surpassing all superlatives.
Najmun Thaqib, a Piercing Star
Illuminating the path for his noble family
And thousands of Guiding Stars.
Gathering at this abode of believers,
To meet the Lord of the Worlds.
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. Ameen.
