…every second singing SUBHANALLAH!!!!!!!!!!!

…every blink…every breath glorifying Allah Ta’ala’s MAGNIFICENCE!!!!!!!!!!!

…were the 70,000 Angels returning after offering Salam to the Best of Creation SallAllahu alaihi wasallam?

…the gentle breeze whispered it so…the soaring pigeons echoed the same…

…were preparations for the coming celebration of the birth of the most precious gift, Allah Ta’ala’s Habib, the Mercy to the Worlds SallAllahu alaihi wasallam in progress?…one wonders…

…every cloud dance testifying…

LA ILAHA ILLALLAH

MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH

LA ILAHA ILLALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH
LA ILAHA ILLALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH
LA ILAHA ILLALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH

LA ILAHA ILLALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH
LA ILAHA ILLALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH
LA ILAHA ILLALLAH MUHAMMADUR RASULULLAH

…while umbrella maintenance work never ceases…joining the preparations…

…teams of several brothers wash and scrub the inside, where already permanent marks of the Mubarak Madanian dust is evident…what wonderful views they must have overlooking the Abode of Peace, SubhanAllah!

…do you realize that the only pillars not to be fitted with umbrellas are the ones directly in line with the Dome of Felicity…

…was the plan to make this area devoid of shade so as to detract pilgrims from sitting there??

…one wonders…

…I counted six sets of footprints indenting the surface…

…and I counted numerous sets of five, six, seven commandos patrolling back and forth between Babul Baqi and the Baqi fence…

…with riot gear helmets and many flexing their batons…

…while dozens of others lined the walls…

…back and forth…back and forth…back and forth…

…risky taking photos…there were hundreds gathered…

…one wonders…

…and wonders even more seeing their presence in Jannatul Baqi…

…with police and Haia brothers…

…one wonders why the need for such a show of force…surely all protection and safety is with Allah Ta’ala…

…and do not panic…superman was there!!!

…one wonders about the serenity and fragrance of Paradise that swirls around these Mubarak stones and dust…as tears mingle with deep breaths…

…Insha’Allah my begging is to be here…I request your Du’a for such an abode…

…I recently had a huge print made of this high resolution map as a visual aid for Du’a…individual plots are so clear…I thought maybe I could choose an exact place…but am leaving it to my Rabb…He knows best and is the Best of Planners, Alhumdulillah…imagine rising with all the noble and blessed residents of Jannatul Baqi, the Ahlul Bayt, the thousands of Sahabah RadhiAllahu anhum, the blessed residents of Makkan graveyards, the numerous pious scholars, Awliya and known friends whom Allah Ta’ala called back before I could say farewell…

…imagine witnessing our Beloved Messenger of Allah Ta’ala SallAllahu alaihi wasallam coming to greet the Baqi inhabitants, with Abu Bakr, Umar RadhiAllahu anhumaa and Isa Alaihis Salam by his side…imagine…imagine…imagine…

Assalaamu aleikum sister
I was wondering – are women are allowed to visit inside al-Baqee’? I got the impression during my Hajj trip that people aren’t allowed to go inside the perimeter wall any more, maybe that was a seasonal thing?
My chosen place of departure from this mortal coil (as if it were up to me!) would be al-Madina al-Munawwara. May Allah grant us all a good end…
As-Salam alaykum dear sister Umm Bilal,
Another wonderful post, I enjoyed scanning through the pictures. Hope all is well and may Allah ta’ala continue to bless you and your family. We have once again made intention to try and perform Hajj this year bi idhni Allah. Please remember us in your duas as you will always be in ours.
WasSalam,
Qushayri
As ever my best wishes and du’as to you dear sister in faith for this beautiful little pilgrimage I got the chance to take in such blissful days of Rabi’ul Awwal as we approach our Beloved Prophet (SallAllahu alaihi wa allehi wasallam)’s birth anniversary.
May the blessed soul of our Beloved Messenger of Mercy, SallAllahu alaihi wa allehi wasallam, and those of the Ahl al-Bayt (alaihissalam) and Sahaba (radiAllahu anh) and all the luminaries inhabiting the janat al-Baqi rest and rise in Divine peace and grace and may they intercede with our Beloved Lord Allah subhanahu was ta’ala on our behalf on the Day when some faces will turn white [in their tender love and RESPECT for the Beloved Messenger of Allah] and some faces will turn black [in their disdainful STRIDE!]…. aammeen!
From Mashhad … with much love and du’a
assalmu alaikum sister,
ameen ameen ya rabbil alameen. who wouldnt like to be among the noble residents of jannathul baqi. Do pray for us and convey our salaams to our beloved nabi sallallahu alaihi wasallam. Once again a wonderful post mashallah. I felt like I was walking along with you. Felt great indeed. How do they celebrate meelad un nabi in madinah ?
Here (south India) they read maulood for 12 days . Come Rabi ul awwal and there goes on a lot of debate whether its right to read mauleed or bidhah. So I just wanted to know how its celebrated over there in madinah.
Love Anisa
Mashallah, yet another enlightening post. The question about the Umbrellas not covering the area opposite the Blessed Dome was in my mind since the visit to the City of Light in 2009. However hard they try, the Lovers of RasulAllah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam, shall not cease to stand at the spot to convey their Durood-o-Salam.
The Aashiqoon even love the heat of Madina Al Munawwarah.
Wasalaam
Wa ‘alaikumus Salam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,

Ameen thumma Ameen Dearest Z Bheti! Been thinking and ‘wondering’ about you and yours so much lately
Insha’Allah will carry out your wishes Dearest UmmAyesha…and may all desiring such an abode of dust be granted this blessing Ameen.
Dearest Umm Mahmoud, Zirayah time for brothers is after Fajr and Asr when they can be inside, albeit a little restricted around the main grave sites, and with lectures from the Haia. They can also follow the Janazah bier, but sometimes are not permitted inside unless they are related to the deceased, but this seems to be a spasmodic decision depending on the police at the gates. Sisters can enter the viewing platform after Asr Salat, or can go to the northern wall, where these photos were taken at any time, and where the ledge is low so very easy to see inside. The viewing platform is the sort of dotted lines on the top left of the map above.
Dear Brother Qushayri and family, always a treat to ‘see’ you…Insha’Allah your invitation has been stamped with ‘accepted’ Ameen! Du’a will flow for this to be so
Ameen thumma Ameen for your moving words Dear Brother Ahmad. May you and all your near and dear be raised with the whitest of faces, Insha’Allah, Ameen!
How wonderful it would be to have you all walk along with me Dear Sister Anisa!
Mawlids are very much a private affair in Madinatun Nabi…there are various places for brothers to gather, and often it can be thousands during this Mubarak month, whereas sisters meet in private homes. There are some little touches in the courtyard that are unique for this time, as I have relayed in previous posts on Rabi’al Awwal (available in archives)
I linked to this clip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzXVHP7t3kk&feature=related
the other day in a comment…a very sound and clear view on the Mawlid,
as is this article
http://sunnah.org/ibadaat/mawlid_dubai.htm
I realize there are varying opinions, some bordering on the extreme on both pro and anti the Mawlid, but it is not my intention to buy into discussion here
Love your comment Dear Brother Bashrat…pre umbrella era pilgrims came to offer Salam and Salat, post umbrella era the same will continue until the end of time…but the lack of them in that specific corridor show the lengths some go to to foil attempts of LOVE. May Allah Ta’ala guide and save us all, Ameen.
Wassalamu alaikum
Subhan Allah, i was so close and yet so far! Our hotel was to the north of the Haram and we could easily have walked to al-Baqee’… or so I realized in hindsight. The combination of jetlag, hardly believing *I Was Finally There* after years of longing and the lack of a decent map didn’t help either. (Finally got my hands on some books and maps later in the trip, alhamdulillah).
In sha Allah next time… the dreaming and yearning to return is, if anything, greater than the initial longing to visit the holy places!
Assalamu alaikum Wa Rahamatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
All the ‘virtual tour’ posts were written as a guide for those intending a visit, to study and be familiar with history and locations prior to arriving. Insha’Allah more can avail themselves of books and online information that is now so readily available, with more in the process of publication, Alhumdulillah.
Insha’Allah you will be well prepared next time Dear Umm Mahnoud
Wassalamu alaikum
