…a curtain for the paradise behind…

“Every soul shall taste death in the end; to Us shall you be brought back.” (29:57)

…how we all know this to be the end reality…but how do we truly encompass this ultimate meeting with our Rabb Subhanahu wa Ta’ala as we live each day as if the end will never come…assuming Malakul Maut Alahis Salam, will surely visit when we are old and withered, crumpled and brittle as an autumn leaf…when eye sight is feeble…the body wracked with aches and pains…the memory fading and the breath short and crackly…

…how we all know we surely will never escape the beckoning of Malakul Maut…when he has been commissioned nothing can prevent his visit…

…but as much as death is the only inevitable thing in life, the shock that Allah Ta’ala desires a young vibrant and lovable mother, wife, sister, daughter to be called back to Him jolts the heart…Inna liLlahi wa inna ilaihi rajeoon…

…the expat community in this City of Radiance are rejoicing on the one hand that such a dear Mu’minah has been granted what we all desire with our Hijrah here, to be blessed to be in Jannatul Baqi, SubhanAllah, but it is the sudden reminder that Allah Ta’ala is the Al Hikmah and only He knows what is best for any of us…He is the One and Only Al Muhyi, the Giver of Life and Al Mumit, the Taker of Life…and He is the One to decide when and how to take what belongs to Him…our life and living…all is a gift on loan…

…the following poignant Rumi has been posted as a balm and solace for other loved ones who are residing in Baqi Gharqad and who will surely be raised on the Day of Resurrection with our Beloved Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam…(Sister Z, Dr Abu Bakr, Baba Ji, along with many other posts from the archives in the Baqi Gharqad and death category)

when i die
when my coffin
is being taken out
you must never think
i am missing this world

don’t shed any tears
don’t lament or
feel sorry
i’m not falling
into a monster’s abyss

when you see
my corpse is being carried
don’t cry for my leaving
i’m not leaving
i’m arriving at eternal love

when you leave me
in the grave
don’t say goodbye
remember a grave is
only a curtain
for the paradise behind

you’ll only see me
descending into a grave
now watch me rise
how can there be an end
when the sun sets or
the moon goes down

it looks like the end
it seems like a sunset
but in reality it is a dawn
when the grave locks you up
that is when your soul is freed

have you ever seen
a seed fallen to earth
not rise with a new life
why should you doubt the rise
of a seed named human

have you ever seen
a bucket lowered into a well
coming back empty
why lament for a soul
when it can come back
like Joseph from the well

when for the last time
you close your mouth
your words and soul
will belong to the world of
no place no time

A Celebration of Life and Love

…may we be thankful and grateful for every aspect of the life we are given…may this thankfulness be active in our every step and breath with actions that strive for Allah Ta’ala’s sake…may we be constantly mindful of what we are doing, who we are doing it for and how it will be recorded…continuously remembering that Malakul Maut may visit at any given moment…may we work for the Hereafter, for our salvation, for an end with unwavering Iman…may we all be believers who are not afraid of death because we have made preparations for it by striving to perfect our faith… seeking knowledge so that we will reap the fruits of  a lush and bountiful sowing…

… it would be most pleasing to know that dear readers will make Du’a for Sister A’s soul,  her bereaved family and friends, both here in Al Madinah Al Munawwarah as well as loved ones back ‘home’…InshaAllah Al Fatihah and Surah Ya Seen…

…may Sister A have already arrived at eternal love and now be behind the curtain delighting in the Garden of Bliss,  Ameen…

O Allah! We beg of You unwavering faith, unending grace and the company of our Beloved Messenger SallAllahu alaihi wasallam in high stations of everlasting Paradise. O Allah! Grant us martyrdom in Thy cause and bless us with death in the City of Your Messenger. Ameen.

JUMA’AH MUBARAK!

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

    Assalamu alaikum,
May Allah swt forgive the sister and all in Jannatul Baqi. And may he grant her family sabr.
Jazakallah for this essential reminder. How true it is that we are ever forgetful.Rumi poems ajeeb in their quality of appearing that they could have been written this morning from one of us living now.His poem is as though someone from the 21st century could have penned it.I guess Rumi has this timeless quality because he is addressing the ruh of the listener.

Inna lillah wa inna ilayhi raji’oon – Allah Subhana wa ta’ala is indeed MOST GENEROUS to take back His servant in the best of lands. The greatest honour. May this bring comfort to those relatives left behind. AMEEN

Jazakum Allahu Khairan for this reminder only last week a friend of my husband’s passed away suddenly in this blessed month of Rajab – May Allah greet him with ENDLESS MERCY AMEEN. please convey my salutations to the beloved of Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam awaiting my call to madinah al munawwarah. ameen love and duas xxx

I really enjoyed reading the other posts linked to this too – these sudden events always shake us and make us question are we really ready ourselves? Then you realise just what a mercy it is to witness these events to give us all chance after chance to improve and turn to Allah and His Beloved more insha’Allah…… for he who has lost Allah what more can he loose? and he who has found Allah what more can he need? Wa ‘alaikumus Salam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
always heartwarming when you visit and share your views Dear Umm Ayesha. And JazakiLlahu khaira for your kindest of Du’as. Alhumdulillah the family certainly realizing just how special their precious mother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend was and ever will be in their and our hearts. Surely all that Allah Ta’ala plans is a mercy…just that we erect all sorts of barriers preventing it to reach us…but then we are merely human with countless shortcomings and weaknesses…may we all keep turning more and more to His Will and submit to whatever has been decreed by Him, Ameen,
