…Al-Ghars well taken almost two years ago…

…from when this patch of concrete was a window…this is how it is now…

…Al Ghars Well taken today from the grill seen to the left of the photo below…

…where not so long ago the Asmaa ul-Husna adorned the walls…but no longer…the efforts to prevent seekers and lovers from what few sites remain of our rich and illustrious heritage beggars belief…

…as does the presence of the ‘vice squad’ in Masjid Fa’th shouting to the crowds, who have braved extreme heat to visit the notable sites, that they are not permitted to pray there…

…the flow of pilgrims up and down the steps was dense…as it was at all the main places for Ziyarah…buses were lined up in the hundreds at Khandaq, Quba, Qiblatain and the site of the Shuhadah at Uhud…with private cars and taxis adding to the traffic congestion…

…the next disbelief was to find that the Salman Farisi Masjid is locked…but this did not prevent those wanting to offer Salat there from ‘borrowing’ a prayer mat from the vendor and praying in the doorway…

…but what is permitted are these traders in droves…disregarding the hazard they cause as the crowds attempt to negotiate getting to the place of significance…and a total disregard for the rubbish that is created…

…and also what is permitted are the tons of cheap imported clothes with inappropriate and unnecessary images for us as the Ummah of Rasulullah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam…

…colourful summery scenes…

…all that is missing is the water!!!

…I can never understand why the presence of these vendors, in such numbers, selling the same items everywhere are all obviously condoned…and yet we are not allowed to look into an historic well…grumble grumble…

…and why so many pilgrims are so easily distracted from the actual reason why they are making such an effort, in the searing sun, ‘to go shopping’…the presence of the Shayateen’s favourite haunt, markets, must have them laughing heartily…AstaghfiruLlah…

…Sayyidna Hamza RadhiAllahu anhu’s resting place is only visible through various holes that have been broken in the opaque perspex that has been erected to ‘prevent’ us looking in…where does this attitude come from…what harm is it for the Ummah to ‘see’ that which fills the heart with love and a sublime awe for our golden past??

…instead we are ‘forced’ to see these dusty, ugly, messy stalls…littering where the esteemed Sahabah RadhiAllahu anhu sacrificed so much…where our Beloved Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam was wounded…why have we allowed our attention, our love, our Deen, to be sabotaged??? AstaghfiruLlahu…

…where the traders re constantly ‘dusting’…grumble grumble…

…foundations for the new Masjid at the Shuhadah site…looking towards Jabal Uhud…

…returning to the courtyard with the spraying mist under the shade of the umbrellas was a welcomed and serene balm for the dehydrated body…and soul…
…Insha’Allah…please make excessive Du’a for the Haramain…for the Ummah to not only LOVE the Deen but to ACTUALIZE it from deep within their hearts so that the limbs portray this love, Ameen…
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

Jazakallah khair for this very heartfelt post! Indeed when we visit these holy sites our focus should only be on gaining the pleasure of Allah (swt) and we shouldn’t focus too much on the worldly things!
Indeed, It is really pathetic to see the deliberate attempts to down grade the importance of these sites.
There is a book of a pakistani scholar Mufti abu lubaba on this very matter, it is yet to be published due to implications it may have.
Let us pray what ever comes is in best interest of this ummah.
Am i allowed to repost this blogpost (with due references to you site) elsewhere.
Assalamu alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
Totally agree Dear Sister Yasmin, and that is why it makes it more painful when the presence of ‘worldly things’ is so prevalent and in such an ugly way that one cannot escape the physicality of it at all the sacred places. Yes, it means working on ignoring all that which distracts one from the very reasons why we are here, but this does not seem to be so easy for the majority.
Dear Brother Zia, that book sounds interesting, but I understand how we also need to be careful with our ‘grumbling’. I usually do not mind others using posts or photographs but do expect links back to the source.
Wassalamu alaikum
Of course, this is ethical that i should cite the main source.
JazakumuLLahu khaira
Wassalamu alaikum
Assalamu Alaikum sister,
this new interface is very nice with the new look and all, very modern but i miss the mubarak green dome picture that greeted the visitors and made their heart swell up when they opened this site previously. that picture was window to countless dreams ,imaginations… so i hope u will keep the mubarak dome picture permanently and change anything else but that.
Am sure there are 100s of pictures of different angles of the mubarak dome.
Wa ‘alaikumus Salam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
Dear Brother Ahamed and family,
yes, there are HUNDREDS of photos of the Dome of Felicity throughout this site. I like to change the header/banner every now and then. Alhumdulillah for how the heart also swells at the sight of the Mubarak name of our Noble Nabi SallAllahu alaihi wasallam…inherent in it are so many magnificent blessings and secrets, SubhanAllah. There is a post from some tome back detailing this beautiful topic. Insha’Allah when I have time I will add it here…days at the moment are extremely busy, scorching and demanding, and taking me away from the blog world, Alhumdulillah
Wassalamu alaikum
As-salamualaykum wa rahamtulLah sister,
MashaAllah, may Allah reward you for the informative & beautiful site. It makes me think abt how much i do not know, and how much work still needs to be done to actually get close into becoming a someone who claims love for RasullulLah salLahu alayhi wa salam and his blessed family, may Allah be pleased with them all.
as i read this post, i too thought in my mind..id grumble too. its heartbreaking..but inshaAllah, as one of our teachers said here, that kind of stuff ain’t gonna last.
da’watukum inshaAllah.
Assalamualaikum, Your a person after my own heart, when i went i had to squint just to look past the glitter and shining marble, and the hustle of vendors just to find some of the past that my forefathers would have experienced….i sooo wanted to see our muslim heritage, i dont understand why they have to hide or demolish them, here in the UK, they keep theirs safe with every detail written. It was a shame when i went to the museum in Makkah and found no artifacts going back to our prophets time. Why?
Jazakallah for all your info, and beautifully written too.
Assalamu Alaykym,
It would be extremely useful and wonderful if you could point out the hsitorical locations on a map.. like you did for the Ghars well and the garden of salman farsi.
When I visit I want to visit all the hsitorical sites and a map will be extremely helpful.
JazakAllah,
