O Allah! Bestow blessings on Sayyidina Muhammad,
who is the best among Prophets sent by You
and the most noble among Your chosen people,
the leader of the saints, and the Seal of the Prophets,
and the beloved of the Lord of the Worlds,
a witness for the Messengers of Allah (on the Day of Judgement)
and the intercessor for sinners,
the leader of all the children of Prophet Adam Alayhissalaam;
whose remembrance has been exalted among the highest angels,
who brings glad tidings (of heaven) and warns (against hell-fire),
a shining light, truthful, trustworthy, manifest truth,
most kind and merciful, the guide to the straight path,
whom You gave the seven often-repeated verses of Surah Fatiha
and the magnificent Qur’an,
the Prophet of mercy and the guide of the nation,
the first one to be resurrected and to enter paradise,
and one who is supported by angels Jibril and Meekaail,
whose coming had been foretold in the Torah and the Bible,
Mustafa, Mujtaba, the selected one, the father of Qasim,
Muhammad, son of ‘Abdillah, son of ‘Abdil Muttalib, son of Hashim.

Assalaamu aleikum sis
Bumbling around in a black polyester abayah (lightest weight I can find) as the mercury climbs here is my other approach to physical preps. We’re hoping to find some decent covering summer clothing whilst we’re there (which is a lost cause in the land of tank tops and capris… summer weight long-sleeve long tops and long skirts sans slits are very hard to find) – what are our chances of success??
the psyching up has already begun… the offspring are spouting theories about a “ceiling effect” of heat (in other words, after about 35 degrees C it’s all just Very, Very Hot and another 10 degrees don’t really make much of a diff!). The heat will be a big challenge for me, duas will be appreciated
Wa ‘alaikumus Salam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
Dear Umm Mahmoud. I would be the worst to ask about shopping for clothes here…but I do notice that there are many ‘modern’ type shops that are popular here…some around Haram both in Makkah and Madinah…more of a selection in the big new Malls and the massive warehouse places…friends seem to find the sort of things you are wanting…plus there is the long loose Arabic style, but sadly most of these are synthetic fabrics. Alhumdulillah for the air conditioning, the umbrellas and the misty spraying fans!!! And often the thoughts that get me through the scorching conditions revolve around just how did the illustrious Sahabah RadhiAllahu anhum and our Blessed Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasalam cope?? SubhanAllah, how much we have to work on our Iman and the taming of the nafs. May Allah Ta’ala guide and strengthen us all, Ameen
LOL! Insha’Allah that theory holds fast for you all when here
Wassalamu alaikum
