…at the closing of another day a short wander to the oasis of Saqeefa shines the heart and soul with a rush of lush green…

…a chirping bird orchestra…

…and a becalming solace…the breath instantly deepens…revitalizing the mind and body…inhaling all that happened within this vicinity during the golden time of our Beloved Messenger SallAllahu alaihi wasallam…a true winter’s delight…

…a new sign acknowledges the historic significance of this tiny sanctuary…

…the healthiest cat I have ever seen in Madinatun Nabi appears for Salam…

…a concerted effort to deal with the abundance of flies is seen hanging from trees and fly trap adhesive paper is wound around trunks and pillars…

…pigeons dance the dance of never knowing hunger as feed is constantly fed to them…Jabal Uhud peeks through in the distance…

…while to the left is Northern Thaniyyatul Wadaa (they say the building on the far right, Pakistani House, marks the exact location) and the place of Masjid Sabaq and the race track and Jabal Sala’ and the silhouetted remains of Ottoman forts puncture the skyline…

…a weird reflection of a minaret in the Movenpick window elicits a smile…

…while the gentle hues of dusk paint all in sight…

…such are the simple pleasures of winter’s delight in this Radiant City…
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

Mashallah, very interesting post!
Assalamu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu sister. I just wanted to say Jazaki Allahu Khair. I always enjoy reading your posts and looking at the photographs you post. It makes me want to go to Madinah even more!
Please make du’a that I am able to visit Makkah and Madinah one day InshaAllah and perform Umrah and Hajj. I have never been and my heart longs to be in these sacred cities.
I wanted to ask if I could please post some of your photographs on my facebook? I would of course let people know the photographs are taken by you and put a link to this website inshaAllah with each photograph. I would love to share them with others. Jazaki Allahu Khair.
Your sister,
Nosheen (UK)
Assalaamu aleikum dear sis
Another bumper crop of pics! How amazing to see green grass in the desert
I love the pic of the cat, he looks very well cared for, ma sha Allah. Do people keep cats as pets there? I only ever saw the street moggies…
Sr Nosheen, I hope you get the chance to visit Makkah and Madinah soon, in sha Allah. But I must warn you, if you go once you will want to go back again and again!
Assalaamu Alaikum,
Dear Aunty Noor
A simply beautiful post! Wonderful shots! How GREEN and splendid does Madinah tun nabi look? ,Subhanallah!

Assalamu alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
I am more than happy for this space to be linked on FB…I do not aspire…nor have the time to be a FBer…but appreciate when others spread the word
So please do so with reference back to here.
Will chat about the ‘green’ soon Insha’Allah.
This area abounds in such energy and light Dear Sister Yasmin…our Blessed Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam having spent so much time in and around here, SubhanAllah…one’s cares thrown to the winds walking here…and if one goes to Saqeefa early after Fajr the likelihood of the gardener letting inside is great.
Dear Sister Nosheen. Insha’Allah I will keep making Du’a for your invite, and meanwhile you keep begging in Tahujjud to be here
Dear Umm Mahmoud…yes many keep cats…usually ‘designer label’ ones purchased from pet shops…but the problem is that they are then strictly an indoor cat as the owner doesn’t want them fraternizing with the local ‘moggies’. Sad…as I have seen many suffer due to not being out in the fresh air and natural earthy places. Not many ‘adopt’ the alley cats, apart from throwing them old food …disease is rife and there are not many vets in the Kingdom. The feral feline population is a real problem here. Du’a! I was touched with your comment to Sister Nosheen
Dear Bint Asiyah, it is a very special place and dearly looked after, Alhumdulillah…but if plans that were announced some time back go ahead then this garden is threatened to become part of an extended courtyard…may this never happen…it is one of the few places where you can feel the rejuvenation of oxygen as you breath…true!
Wassalamu alaikum
The stray cats in Qatar are very healthy and clean compared to the stray cats in Saudi Arabia. May be it has to do something with food wastage. Qatari people waste a lot food and thus the stray cats here have very little difficulty in finding food.
BTW, beautiful pictures as always.
Assalamu alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
Just amazing looking at these pictures but it is out of this world actually being at the place itself. If one knows the history behind the place, then you get transported to the past. Please sister do dua that we are called to the blessed city very soon and do convey my salaams the next time you visit Masjid an Nabavia Shareef.
Wasalaam.
SubhanAllah! Beautiful pictures and amazing serene beauty of the garden!!!
This cute healthy cat resembles our cat…… btw, it’s a mainecoon, with a letter M on the forehead.
JazaakAllah Khairan for sharing.
Assalamu alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
Dear Shardul of Allah…unfortunately food is also wasted here…all around the rubbish bins and in open areas one sees copious remains of food…so much rice and things cats would not normally eat. Allahu ‘Alum as to why they are so miserable and sickly.
Dear Brother Bashrat…your request conveyed while in Rowdha Shareef, Alhumdulillah. So true…stepping on this Mubarak earth defies description…may Allah Ta’ala make it easy for all who desire to be here, Ameen.
JazakiLlahu khaira for the cat description Dear Sister Seema…I have learnt something new
Wassalamu alaikum
