…weave a Ramadhan shawl…

source the finest of threads

dyed with the brilliance of Revelation

on a loom blessed with a Maqbool Shaban

work with hands ready to generously give

and a heart prepared to reform

the way Allah Ta’ala plans

not the whim of the nafs

focus with a steadfast mind

with full concentration and devotion

to produce the finest fabric

without tangles of anger

or knots of impatience

or inconsistent tension

that forms holes of negligence

let the shuttle rhythmically fly

on repetitious Dhikr

Salawat and Tilawat

embellish the shawl with jewels of

La illaha illa Allah Muhammadur Rasulullah

and beads

that shine with the seeking of forgiveness

embroider corners that beg for Jannah

add textured patterns that shield from the Fire

interlace Heaven’s open gates

with the bolted doors of Hell

splice in multitudes of Angels

forget about the Shayateen as they are chained

insert swirls of Taraweh

incorporate glittery sequins of nawafil

and flourishes that glimmer of Laylatul Qadr

envision Allah’s Gaze as you create

abstaining for Him

then wear your shawl

aglow

with Taqwa

JUMA’AH MUBARAK!

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.
