a garden in blossom

This body is a dwelling of the true Lord, and my heart like a garden in blossom.

Within it are fountains, within it are prayer grounds, within it places to bow down in prayer.

Within it is the Ka’ba, within it the qibla, within it the cries of “Only Allah!”

I found the Perfect Guide, Bahu, He alone will take care of me.

Death Before Dying, The Sufi Poems of Sultan Bahu. And here for a Bahu Ramadhan story of The Cave and the Deer.

…check if the blossoms in the garden of your heart, during these last moments of our cherished guest, are bursting with Sakeenah, Taqwa, good deeds. Or with the sweet scent of words crying to Allah Ta’ala asking for Hidayah across the world, for Tawfiq in all our affairs, for Iman that is forever on the increase.

…or do the fountains splash with the coolness of repentance and whispers of ‘Ya Rabb, assist us to please You until You are pleased with us, Ya Rabb, make us of those who are rightly guided.’

…Insha’Allah peek in all the nooks and crannies of your inner garden where you will find the Perfect Guide in full bloom…

Laylatul Qadr in Masjid al-Haram from Arab News, where millions, appeared in unison as one giant unfolding blossom…

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

…by the power that is bewildering…

O Allah, O You of Whom it is true

that there are no rain drops in the skies,

and no seeds in the earth,

and no shifts in the blowing wind,

and no feelings in people’s hearts,

and no movement in their limbs,

and no glances in their eyes,

unless they are bearing witness to You,

and pointing the way to You,

and acknowledging Your Lordship,

and bewildered by Your power.

I therefore beseech You, O Allah,

by the power that is bewildering

to those in the heavens and on the earth,

that You may bless Muhammad and his family,

and his Companions and his progeny.

Shaikh Abu’l-Hasan al-Jawsaqi, a servant and follower of Shaikh ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani Rahmatullahi alaihumaa, offered this Du’a and said: “If someone has a need, let him recite this supplication, then let him appeal for what he wishes to receive, for it is one of those supplications that are sure to be answered. He would often quote these poetic verses:

My heart has blinked at You,

that it may see what my eye cannot see,

And that You may instill in my inner being

the sweetness of begging and yearning.

You wish to put me through some test,

for You know what is required of me.

I have no interest in anything but You,

so test me however You may wish!

From Necklace of Gems.

…Insha’Allah, by the power that is bewildering, may all pilgrims journeying to these sacred lands this Umrah season, taste the sweetness of begging and yearning and be ardent in their salutations to our Liegelord Al-Mustafa SallAllahu alaihi wasallam, Ameen.

Ameen.

…one family’s praises…

…from a home engulfed with NOOR…where children are encouraged to express their love and praises for our Rabb Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and His Habib SallAllahu alaihi wasallam through the Qur’an and the actualization of the Sunnah, through art, Qasidas, attention to the best of Akhlaq the joy associated with Khidmah and a simple lifestyle. Their love is infectious, so I share this with you all, as they have with me through these visual and audio praises, SubhanAllah!

Anas ibn Malik RadhiAllahu alahu said: “A man passed the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam who was in the company of some people, so a man from those with him said, ‘Indeed I love that person for Allah’s sake.’ So the Messenger of Allah said, ‘ Have you informed him?’ He said, ‘No.’ He SallAllahu alaihi wasallam said,’ Go to him and inform him.’ So he went and informed him, so he replied, ‘May the One for whose sake you have loved me love you.’ Then he returned and the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam asked him what he had said and the man told him. So the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam  said, ‘You will be with the one whom you have loved and there will be for you the reward that you hoped for.’” (Abu Dawud, Ahmad, al-Haakim, and others.)

This is one family, from countless I love, and hope to be with Insha’Allah, Ameen Ameen Ameen.

Ya Habibi Ya Mustafa

How long will my heart ache for my Beloved
O you light of the universe
And call out to you O Tihami
O you treasure of goodness

My utmost wish and desire
Is that I may attain to the vision
And see the door of Paradise
O you purifier of efforts!

O you crown of creation, I am
engrossed in longing and desires
a lover, whose art is praise (of the beloved)
O you full moon of perfection!
Lift away the burden from me
love has consumed me and made me weak
To you I put my hope
O you holder of lofty promises!

O you guiding light of Prophets
you most highly honoured!
O you leader of the God-fearing
my heart melts (in front of you)

Your mode of life is my guide to salvation, O my Beloved O Muhammad

O Intercessor of the believers, You are the best of messengers
A mercy to the worlds, O my Beloved O Muhammad

You are treasured, O Prophet may my mother and father be ransom for you

Ya Zainal Anbiya’

Say: If you love Allâh then follow me, Allâh will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (3:31)

Thakartu Rabbi  (I remembered my Lord)

Allah Allah There is none other for me except Him

Verily whenever I remember my Lord
My longing to reach him increases
My life has become pleasant and my heart illuminated
With the remembrance of my Lord, exalted is his praise
None has tasted the joy of love except
One who understands the connection or is acquainted
O how fortunate a people, from Allah take their glory
They have attained proximity with him and so have excelled
Thus the Exalted raised them to a grand status
They have nothing to wish for except to be blessed with His vision
How and when they have witnessed His Sublimity
They saw Him in all clarity, through His Light and Splendour
So they said, Oh Him Oh Him
So He said, Verily I am to you Most Beloved
A Lord Munificent, most deserving of Lordship
I accept whoever repents from My slaves
And it does not concern Me what he has committed.

Allah Allah There is none other for me except Him.

…absolutely clear…

Don’t surrender your loneliness
So quickly.
Let it cut more deep.

Let it ferment and season you
As few human
Or even divine ingredients can.

Something missing in my heart tonight
Has made my eyes so soft,
My voice
So tender,

My need of God absolutely clear.

Khwajeh Shams al-Din Muhammad Hafez Shirazi (1321-1389)

…and thus dear readers it is absolutely clear that the something missing in the heart tonight is this humble speck’s need right now to be as close as possible to our precious one SallAllahu alaihi wasallam whose light lit the earth and sky, to be close to the one whose name contains such glory, to be so close as to whisper Welcome, O intercessor for the sinner! to maybe feel the wafting aroma of heavenly baking,

Insha’Allah you too take time, wherever you may be, whomever you may be with, to retreat into that space of ‘loneliness even in a crowd’ drawing closer and experiencing a deeper intimacy, reflecting on Allah Ta’ala’s gift of light, mercy and compassion to the worlds, SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.

…why despair…

why despair

for not being there

enough to know

the sky was aglow

*

hearts can hold

what is told

a red star rose

darkness folded close

heavenly ethereal light

illuminating and intensely bright

Angels spread a silk brocade

Houris led a celestial parade

*

why despair

for not being there

enough to know

mercy will forever flow

*

balconies crumbled

rivers roared and tumbled

fragrant pearls dropped by birds

the devils cry was heard

the Majestic Throne trembled and shook

Thuwayba her freedom took

idols bowed in humility

realizing their futility

*

why despair

for not being there

enough to know

it is clearly so

to follow him

is sure to win

an eternal place

besotted by his shining face

beside the Fountain

and musk mountain

jewelled goblets raise

to songs of ceaseless praise

*

why despair

for not being there

enough to know

he was sent to love us so

*

why despair

for not being there

when his only care

is always there

UMMATY UMMATY UMMATY

O Allah, bless our liegelord Muhammad whose light preceded creation and whose appearance was a mercy for the worlds, [blessings] equal to the number of Your created beings who have passed and who remain, who are fortunate and who are wretched, blessings that use up all the numbers and encompass all borders, blessings with no limit nor bounds, no term nor end, blessings that last as long as You last, and the like of it upon his family and Companions. And for this may Allah be praised.

…hadhaa as-sabaah…

…every second singing SUBHANALLAH!!!!!!!!!!!

…every blink…every breath glorifying Allah Ta’ala’s MAGNIFICENCE!!!!!!!!!!!

…were the 70,000 Angels returning after offering Salam to the Best of Creation SallAllahu alaihi wasallam?

…the gentle breeze whispered it so…the soaring pigeons echoed the same…

…were preparations for the coming celebration of the birth of the most precious gift, Allah Ta’ala’s Habib, the Mercy to the Worlds SallAllahu alaihi wasallam in progress?…one wonders…

…every cloud dance testifying…

…while umbrella maintenance work never ceases…joining the preparations…

…teams of several brothers wash and scrub the inside, where already permanent marks of the Mubarak Madanian dust is evident…what wonderful views they must have overlooking the Abode of Peace, SubhanAllah!

…do you realize that the only pillars not to be fitted with umbrellas are the ones directly in line with the Dome of Felicity…

…was the plan to make this area devoid of shade so as to detract pilgrims from sitting there??

…one wonders…

…I counted six sets of footprints indenting the surface…

…and I counted numerous sets of five, six, seven commandos patrolling back and forth between Babul Baqi and the Baqi fence…

…with riot gear helmets and many flexing their batons…

…while dozens of others lined the walls…

…back and forth…back and forth…back and forth…

…risky taking photos…there were hundreds gathered…

…one wonders…

…and wonders even more seeing their presence in Jannatul Baqi…

…with police and Haia brothers…

…one wonders why the need for such a show of force…surely all protection and safety is with Allah Ta’ala…

…and do not panic…superman was there!!!

…one wonders about the serenity and fragrance of Paradise that swirls around these Mubarak stones and dust…as tears mingle with deep breaths…

…Insha’Allah my begging is to be here…I request your Du’a for such an abode…

…I recently had a huge print made of this high resolution map as a visual aid for Du’a…individual plots are so clear…I thought maybe I could choose an exact place…but am leaving it to my Rabb…He knows best and is the Best of Planners, Alhumdulillah…imagine rising with all the noble and blessed residents of Jannatul Baqi, the Ahlul Bayt, the thousands of Sahabah RadhiAllahu anhum, the blessed residents of Makkan graveyards, the numerous pious scholars, Awliya and known friends whom Allah Ta’ala called back before I could say farewell…

…imagine witnessing our Beloved Messenger of Allah Ta’ala SallAllahu alaihi wasallam coming to greet the Baqi inhabitants, with Abu Bakr, Umar RadhiAllahu anhumaa and Isa Alaihis Salam by his side…imagine…imagine…imagine…
