…we remain bathed in that glow…

When you were born the earth and the horizons were illuminated by your light
We remain bathed in that glow and it continues to light the path as we travel it

O Lord, bless us in this month. Bless us in our remembrance of You and Your Messenger. Make us amongst those who are mentioned in Your presence, and amongst those who are mentioned in his presence. Bless our hearts with noble intentions that raise us to the ranks of those beloved to You, so that we on the Day of Judgement we are with those that you mentioned:
The Day on which Allah will not humiliate the Prophet and those who believe with him.
Make us with him, and our families, our children, our friends, our neighbours, our students.
Their light will run before them and by their right hands, while they say:

“O Lord, perfect our light for us, and forgive us, for You have power over all things.”

(66:8)

If anyone has anything in their heart that prevents them from seeking Your pleasure and Your Messenger’s pleasure then remove it so that they prefer You and Your Messenger over everyone else. So that when we sleep tonight nothing is more beloved to us than You and Your Messenger. Increase us in love tomorrow and in the coming days until we meet You, O Most Generous!

Welcoming Rabi’al Awwal by Seeking the Pleasure of Allah and His Messenger, from the blessed pen of Sayyiduna Habib Umar bin Hafiz, may Allah Ta’ala shower him with mercy and continue to elevate his rank, from Abdul Karim Yahya’s Interpreters Path.

JUMA’AH MUBARAK!

ALHUMDULILLAH!

…journeying to the Mubarak Place of the Miraculous Birth to bathe in the glow…

ALHUMDULILLAH!

ALLAHU AKBAR!

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

Hajj with Rasulullah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam

Ibn `Abbâs relates that Allah’s Messenger SallAllahu alaihi wasallam asked a woman from Madinah: “What prevented you from embarking on the Hajj pilgrimage with us?”
She replied: “We had two camels. My husband and child took one and left the other for the rest of us to ride on.”
The Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam then told her: “When the month of Ramadan arrives, go for ‘Umrah, because `Umrah in Ramadan is like accompanying me on Hajj.” [Sahih al-Bukhari]

Alhumdulillah this speck has been beckoned to accompany the Beloved Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallamon Hajj, SubhanAllah…along with the millions who have been in Makkah and who will be there in the second half of this Mubarak month…Insha’Allah performing Umrah as though we are with Al-Mustafa SallAllahu alaihi wasallam…the heart soars…the emotions are giddy…the praises never enough…

The above is a screen grab from part five of Expansion of the Two Holy Mosques in Mecca and Madina. Such a contrast to the throng of faithful now…

…from the Makkah Live Stream

…these are also from the same video clip…

…this was Sa’i…in the open…

…with markets running parallel to it…so not much has changed regarding the close proximity of markets to Haram…

Links to the other parts in the series…there is am emphasis on the engineering and technical aspects but all are fascinating…1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7.

Insha’Allah there will be more added to the expansion series covering the current King Abdullah project…it is said the King will be officially laying the foundations stone in the coming days.

This is how some will be spending their Ramadhan days: luxury hotels.

While the suffering across the world is heart wrenching…Brother/Doctor Ikramuddin has long been a follower of this space. Today I received this message from him:

I pray this reaches you all in the highest state of Iman and the best of health. By the Mercy of Allah Ta’ala I was able to travel into Mogadishu, Somalia to help provide medical aid at some of the IDP camps housing the nearly 1 million people who have poured into the city desperately seeking food and water.

I’ve witnessed things I’ve never before seen, the heartbreaking suffering of the children is beyond imagine… and thus this message to you all. I know that people are always asking for donations and financial aid, but when seeing 2 yr old children weighing 3kg (the weight of a newborn child) or children who haven’t even the strength to stand on their own two legs, the least I can do is remind people of the reality of the situation.

Please pray for these people and secondly please donate. I am volunteering with Islamic Relief and can vouch for the tremendous work being done.

If anybody is interested in the specific medical projects we are involved in, please feel free to ask.

So Insha’Allah, wherever we are, may a major part of our Du’a be for all facing severe hardships…may our individual efforts of self reformation and purification during the fast disappearing time of Ramadhan be transformational, so that Allah Ta’ala sees the change in our dead hearts and thus changes the conditions around us.

And be heedful of our Beloved Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam’s words: ‘The best charity is that given in Ramadhan’, (At-Tirmithi) so Insha’Allah, reach depths of generosity never tapped before.

We have been blessed with reaching  half way…so whatever deeds we may have accumulated this far, may they be multiplied manifold times, as we turn our hearts, thoughts and our wealth to all who are facing dire circumstances, Ameen.

Raise your hands now, as this speck will be focusing on at BaituLlah

DU’A DU’A DU’A

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

…summoned…

…with the most sublime of summons…Alhumdulillah…Labaik Allahumma Labaik…Insha’Allah all will be remembered at the Mubarak places around BaituLlah where Du’a is accepted…and I beg your forgiveness…

The one, who tries to reach Me, knows Me.

The one, who knows Me, wants Me.

The one, who wants Me, seeks Me.

The one, who seeks Me, finds Me

The one, who finds Me, serves Me.

The one, who serves Me, remembers Me.

The one, who remembers Me,

I remember him with My Mercy.

Be alone for My prayers.

Purify your deeds from showing off

Then I will make you wear the clothes of My love.

Turn towards Me and be ready for My remembrance,

I will remember you in front of My angels.

Written long ago. With more archival ‘leaving’ entries to choose from here and here.

Insha’Allah the long long ‘list’ will of course be with me, read name by name over and over, hopefully at the Multazam and in the Hateem, as during the coming week Masjid Al-Haram may not be crowded. Check the live stream.

I do not plan posting while away, but Insha’Allah upon returning to this Illustrious and Shining City will share Makkah Al-Mukarramah as it was for me with you. I beg your forgiveness as I embark on Umrah and ask for understanding to all those whom I owe, especially personal emails. Time of late has been extremely rewarding, humbling and overflowing with many amazing experiences, encounters and demands and grannies/nanis/khalas/aunties can only do so much and only stretch energy so far. Maybe I need to prioritize my time more. Certainly, the need to beg Allah Ta’ala for more Barakah in my time will be a must.

…from this morning’s sunrise…

…to maybe a Makkan sunset similar to this…which was taken almost a year ago…and once more, with Allah Ta’ala’s permission, back to HabibuLlah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam…

And time revolves in a circle,

Which was its form on the day that Allah created

the heavens and the earth.

…and please make Du’a for UmmS, and ALL longing for the invitation to these Sacred Lands.

Insha’Allah the hope of being present for some of this Qur’an recitation competition is fulfilled, along with many other Ziyarahs. In light of a previous post, stating that only Saudi nationals could teach Qur’an in the Kingdom, it will be very interesting to see where the winners hail from.

May Allah Ta’ala’s blessings and Rahmah shower us all, just as He is sending rains to Makkah these very days, Ameen.

Ameen.

…Labaik…Juma’ah…Upheaval…

Alhumdulillah an invite to BaituLlah has been accepted.

The intention was to add a new post to the ‘leaving’ category, but time is limited. Visiting the archives in the ‘leaving’ category provides an interesting flashback. [Note: entries made prior to October 08, before I began with this new host, can be accessed here. Due a recent glitch that has recently been discovered between the two sites, the older 'blogsome' images do not load if accessed from the side bar, but if accessed directly all is in tact. Insha'Allah to soon be rectified.]

People, be mindful of your Lord, for the earthquake of the Last Hour will be a mighty thing. (22:1)

Our Beloved Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam said: The Hour shall not come until knowledge has been lifted (from the Earth),earthquakes have increased, time has become shortened, troubles have appeared, turmoil, which is murder, has increased, and until wealth amongst you has increased and become abundant. Bukhari

May we all take heed, and constantly beg Allah Ta’ala to guide and save us before Israfeel Alaihis Salam is instructed to blow the Trumpet, Ameen.

Time for hearts to open with sincere Adiyah for the results displayed in Haiti of power of Allah Ta’ala’s Qudrat. These two articles (1,2) related to the past Turkish earthquake shed light on such calamities.

And for those who can to give generously for the suffering of thousands, Insha’Allah.

JUMA’AH MUBARAK!

Insha’Allah make this a Juma’ah of excessive Du’a for all in need, but especially those in Haiti and all other areas of conflict, Ameen.

The Road Most Travelled

The road most travelled here refers to the physical path that leads to the centre of the Universe, as well as the parallel spiritual road we most travel that Insha’Allah leads Allah Ta’ala.

To consider ourselves of the Ummah of Al-Mustafa SallAllahu alaihi wasallam we need to be constantly and consistently on the spiritual road.

Faithful seekers traverse every imaginable terrain, oceans and skies, answering the call to present themselves to the Sacred House of their Lord, have journeyed and will continue to journey from all corners of the globe. And Allah the Almighty knows best whether the numerous roads leading to His House do constitute the ‘road most travelled’.

The inner road most travelled is a perpetual journey of the heart and soul seeking Oneness. We may be neglectful but we never leave this road. Constant effort is exerted as we contemplate all the challenges that steep inclines and the deep valleys present us in our attempt to reach Allah Ta’ala.

The outer is the relatively easier to negotiate. Vast expanses of geographical space colour the road; hills, mountains, ravines, rubble, desert, cityscapes, forests, oceans, urban bustle, manicured parks, highways and gardens. Add to this the rich layer of diverse conditions and hazards that impede and challenge, regardless of historical time; storms, heat, sun, rain, snow, wind, stillness, illness, bandits, thieves, crooks, not to mention the hidden enemies, nafs and Shaytan lying in ambush. Add yet another layer that represents our human predicament; endurance, will, determination, courage, sincerity, wisdom, love. Top all this with Allah Ta’ala’s Plan for us all. A marathon indeed. But one filled with joy that illuminates the heart.

Ultimately our physical journeying leads to an ‘end’ signalling the finish of the road for this earthly existence, whilst at the same time opening a new chapter and adventure for the spirit. The terrain of this segment of the road most travelled being determined on how we have availed ourselves on the earthly road.

The physical destination of this road most travelled, the apex of our desires manifest on earth is the Ka’abah, and to reach it is fulfillment. A momentary home coming of the heart after a long and arduous journey. And once physically reached the desire is sparked all over to travel the road again and again, to once more be part of a movement in orbit to Him.

Alhumdulillah for the gift of prayer where we can step on the esoteric ‘road most travelled’, aiming to perfect our journeying to Allah Ta’ala repeatedly throughout the day and night.

Once Rabi’a Al-Adawiyyah Rahmatullah alaiha was on her way to Makka, and when half-way there she saw the Ka’ba coming to meet her. She said, “It is the Lord of the house whom I need, what have I to do with the house? I need to meet with Him Who said, ‘Who approaches Me by a span’s length I will approach him by the length of a cubit.’ The Ka’ba which I see has no power over me; what joy does the beauty of the Ka’ba bring to me?”

Imam Ghazzali Rahmatullah alaihi in Minhajul Abideen elucidates many of the perils one can face on the inner road most travelled, followed by recommended preparations for the traveller to attain Eternal Bliss.

A man traversing on this path must know that provision for the journey is indispensable which is nothing but worship and obedience. If anyone has not provided himself with this provision in this world, he cannot get it after death. One who has furnished himself with it will reach the goal of success and will be prosperous in both worlds. He who remains deprived of this provision is grievous in loss and doomed to perish. So this is a very difficult and perilous path.

…the path lies very straight and illuminated before him who wants to follow the path of His worship and obedience. All kinds of proof and guidance are clearly available to those who possess a discerning vision. However it is only Exalted Allah Who has the exclusive power to guide on the straight path of guidance or to push into the darkness of error and straying whomsoever He wills. He knows very well who are following the straight path of guidance who are in error.

The path leading to Paradise is difficult and hazardous, as according to our Beloved Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam:

Paradise has been covered with unpleasant and undesirable things, while Hell has been covered with desires and lust.

Also: Beware! Paradise is situated on a high steep ground while Hell is situated on a smooth low ground.

SubhanAllah! When the reality of these facts resides deep in the heart, as it did with the Sahabah, RadhiAllahu anhum, as they begged for greater hardships, then conditions experienced by most these days seem to be covered with desires and lust and on smooth low ground. May Allah Ta’ala’s Mercy be showered upon us all, Insha’Allah, Ameen.

The following represent some of the contrasting conditions along the road most travelled from Madinah to Makkah last week. Recorded Images and details from along the inner road most travelled continue to be filed away to be revealed on the Day of Qiyamah. May Allah Ta’ala’s Mercy override His Wrath Insha’Allah. Ameen.

May the steps you take along both roads most travelled lead to success in both Worlds, Ameen.

JUMA’AH MUBARAK!

Ya Rabb…

You hear and respond to every utterance as Your slaves gather in the Sacred Sanctuaries of the Haramain. And also as they sit, lie, stand, walk, travel, alone, in groups, in the freezing cold, in the scorching heat, on the highest mountains, in the deepest valleys, in the arid deserts, in lush green plains, by river banks, in dense forests, in crowded cities, in secluded villages, in grass huts, in marbled towers. With crying voices, pleading sighs, wishful whispers, joyous praises, muffled mumbles, strident begging, tearful sobbing, harmonious chanting, silent hoping, distressed murmurs, magnified glorifying, silent cadences, articulate tones, sincere stammers, in varied tongues, and multitudes of accents.

Ya Rabb…

Your slave’s wants have no end; health, marriage, children, possessions, ease, comfort, peace, justice, Iman, Ihsan, Taqwa, Mercy, hope, deliverance, safety, contentment, love, Sabr, Shukr, humility, trust, courage, respect, unity, happiness, wisdom, knowledge, honour, forgiveness serenity, friendship, joy, simplicity, tolerance, truth, modesty, repentance, courage, tranquility. While Your generosity has no end.

If every second an image of Your Sacred Sanctuaries were transformed into gems, I would thread them on a string of gold, creating a necklace as no jeweller could ever imagine. Instead I wear it around my heart where the eyes of the heart can permanently feast on Your Divine Presence and that of Your Present SallAllahu alaihi wasallam, You divinely gifted this Ummah. Assalatu was Salamu ‘alaika Ya Sayyidi Ya RasuluLlah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.

“Exalted be Allah. All praise is due to Allah. Allah is the Most Great. There is no strength or might other than what is given by Allah”: May this declaration match the number of what Allah has created and the number of what Allah creates; the weight of what Allah has created and the weight of what Allah creates; the fullness of what Allah created and the fullness of what Allah creates; the fullness of His heavens and the fullness of His earth; the totality of all the afore-said and the multiples thereof; the number of His creatures, the weight if His Throne, the infinite limits of His Mercy and the ink of His words. May this declaration be such as to befit the extent of Allah’s pleasure, and may it continue to be echoed until Allah is pleased; and may it be such as to befit the continuity of Allah’s pleasure and match the number of instances in which Allah’s creatures have remembered Him throughout the entire times past ,and the number of instances in which His creatures shall remember Him throughout the entire times coming; year after year, month after month, week after week, day after day, hour after hour, breath after breath; from time immemorial to the infinite end of time; from the beginning of the world to the unending limits of the Hereafter; from the Beginning that has no beginning to the End that has no end.

Ya Rabb! Ya Lateef! Ya Wadud!

Insha’Allah, almiskeenah will be travelling to the House and back over the next few days. May all our Adiyah, from wherever we are and whatever conditions we face, bear the sweetest of fruits, as decided by Allah Ta’ala, the best of Planners and the Only One Who knows what is best for us, Ameen.
