…the only constant is change…

…mubarak dust is stirred once again with the work in progress for the new Masjid expansion project…the changes have been constant for decades…plastic sheeting has been attached to fences in an effort to reduce the dust from affecting the courtyard area where hundreds offer their Salat…it is very crowded, SubhanAllah!…the eastern Baqi side of Haram is where the action is at the moment…Allahu ‘Alum plans to begin on the western side are meant to be implemented in the next week or so…this will be a sad time as the lush garden of Saqeefa will be consumed…scroll for photos here

…apparently compensation issues are still being negotiated with property owners, with the major demolition of the northern section is not due to begin until after Hajj…a two year time span for this massive project seems very remote considering all the essential underground infrastructures…so many of the current ablution blocks will no longer be accessible as they will be within the new extended Masjid…thousands have been brought into the Kingdom for construction work in Makkah and Madinah…Insha’Allah thought is given to the basics of water and power and the chaotic traffic conditions if the expectation of having millions gathered at the one time in the Haramain…may Allah Ta’ala guide and protect us all, Ameen…

…it was not long ago when this section was surfaced so that pilgrims staying in the eastern hotels had access to Haram…and now it is all being dug up again…so many new hotels are also marked for demolition…

…how fickle is this Dunya…the remains of a chandelier and a decorative entrance about to disappear…

O Allah, bless our master Muhammad to the extent of Your forbearance.

O Allah, bless our master Muhammad to the extent of Your Knowledge.

O Allah, bless our master Muhammad as many times as Your words.

O Allah, bless our master Muhammad to the extent of Your favour.

O Allah, bless our master Muhammad to the fullness of Your skies.
O Allah, bless our master Muhammad to the fullness of Your earth.
O Allah, bless our master Muhammad to the fullness of Your Throne.
O Allah, bless our master Muhammad in the decoration of Your Throne.
O Allah, bless our master Muhammad in all that the Pen has written in the Mother of the Book.
O Allah, bless our master Muhammad as much as You have created in Your Seven Heavens.
O Allah, bless our master Muhammad as much as You will create in them until the Day of Resurrection and every day a thousand times.
O Allah, bless our master Muhammad in every drop of rain that has fallen from Your heavens to Your earth from the day You created the world to the Day of Resurrection and every day a thousand times.
O Allah, bless our master Muhammad as many times as those who have glorified You, declared Your unity, magnified You and extolled You from the day You created the world to the Day of Resurrection and every day a thousand times.
O Allah, bless our master Muhammad in every one of their breaths and their utterances.
…Insha’Allah be steadfast with the Du’a after Asr every Juma’ah, Insha’Allah…found here with other virtues of this Eid Day…

JUMA’AH MUBARAK!

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

…travellers we all…

The following is a little drop from the ocean of Sayyidi al-Habib’s words from last week’s mawild in Dar al-Mustafa on the 20th of Rabi al-Awwal 1434 / 31st January 2013 as translated by Sidi Amin Buxton (Allah preserve him and his teachers, and benefit us by them). The translation of this talk can be viewed from here.

Your connection to the Chosen One (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and your knowledge of his prophethood, his greatness and his station in the sight of Allah is a blessing.

The more you thank Allah for this blessing, the more He will increase you in the blessing that is Muhammad. Your knowledge of his prophethood, his greatness and his station in the sight of Allah will then be increased. The more you thank Him, the more He will increase you.

He says:

If you are grateful, I will surely increase you(14:7)

This increase has no limit and it will take you to the Abode of Goodness and more:

For those who excelled is goodness, and more than that. No darkness or abasement shall cover their faces. They are the people of the Garden and they will abide therein for ever.  (10:26)

…InshaAllah if you are not already on the Wayfarers to Allah mailing list, <wayfarers.to.allah@gmail.com> I highly recommend you do so for the sake of the heart and soul…

JUMA’AH MUBARAK!

…may these last few days of this Mubarak month of Rabial Awwal 1434 flood you and yours with unlimited bounties from Allah Ta’ala’s Treasury…and may your connection to His Habib SallAllahu alaihi wasallam be forever on the increase and your travels be overflowing with goodness, Ameen…

…photos from the end of the Hajj season when this speck was mobile…Insha’Allah this blessing will soon return along with a ‘blog voice’ that seems to be out in sympathy with lack of mobility…

Ameen.

…Makkan metamorphosis…three…

…a neat row of newly installed fans on the ponderous buttresses of the royal complex…established on what would have been the foothills of the first mountain Allah Ta’ala created, Abu Qubais (along with other significant facts related to Abu Qubais and photos from 2009, and going back further to 2007)

…this area coincides with the outskirts of where the Banu Hashim tribe were…how Mubarak…the vicinity of the first mountain and the birth of the last and final Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam…

…while the entire area surrounding Masjid al-Haram was where Allah Ta’ala chose for so many great ‘firsts’ to happen…Ibrahim Alaihis Salam’s journeying there with his wife Hagar and son Ismail Alaihumaas Salam and their special place in our history and rituals…and all that intervened before so many were chosen to receive the first blessings of Hidayah on this hallowed soil…SubhanAllah!

…now the gaze is dominated by sophisticated machinery digging…moving the bedrock where Islam dawned and eventually flourished…

…where stones were once carried to construct the first BaituLlah…

…to the current times where huge edifices sprout skyward…perched on the very pegs that were made to hold the mountains…increasing the accommodation for the millions being called to Allah Ta’ala’s House…

…the changes seem never ending…

…and will probably never reach any point of completion…

…constant adding and subtracting…pulling down and building up…bigger…higher….grander…

…from the frugal to the opulent…

…from the humble to the extravagant…

…from simplicity to complex…

…dare it be said…from the spiritual to the materialistic…from necessity to indulgence…

…from the modest, unpretentious to competitive haughty boastfulness…

…Insha’Allah we are able to maintain our focus on all that gains Allah Ta’ala’s pleasure and favours as this metamorphosis unfolds…and to steer our hearts firmly onto the noble Sunnah of our Blessed Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam and be constantly in awe of the sacrifices his illustrious Sahabah RadhiAllahu anhum made for the Deen…reminding ourselves that they held Deen in their hearts and Dunya in their hands…

…and if what we are witnessing are signs leading us closer and closer to the End of Times may our diligence with our preparations be increased and Du’a for success in Both Worlds be incessant…

…may we be assiduously nurturing our love for our Noble Nabi SallAllahu alaihi wasallam, especially during these final days of the Mubarak month of his birth…bringing to mind this poignant conversation:

A Bedouin asked the Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam about the Hour. He said, “It will surely come to pass. What have you prepared for it?” The man said, “O Messenger of Allah, I have not prepared much in the way of prayer and good works, but I love Allah and His Messenger.” The Prophet said, “You will be with those you love.” The Muslims had never rejoiced as much they did when they heard this. (Sahih al-Bukhari)

…as all these changes are manifested around our sacred places may our sights be on this very same love the Bedouin expressed and our ultimate destination is with those we love, Ameen…

Ameen.
