Looking up at the detail of a date palm leaf roof as seen in the panorama of a model created to replicate the house of our Blessed Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. Narrations describing the original roof of the Masjid as constructed by Rasulullah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam and the Sahabah RadhiAllahu anhum, reveal the same features.
While the following images are looking up and around one section of the elaborate construction of the ceiling of Masjid Nabawi now. Visit this site for recent panoramas of various aspects of Masjid Nabawi as well as other sacred sites around the Haramain.

Back to the diorama…

…where we see a staff representative of the fact that our Beloved Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam carried one and reminding us of incidents with his Sahabah RadhiAllahu anahum.
From the recently published Our Master Muhammad The Messenger of Allah His Sublime Character and Exalted Attributes Volume 2, section: His Tremendous Blessings:
The Companions Sought Blessings from the Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam’s Staff:
Muhammad ibn Sirin relates that Anas ibn Malik RadhiAllahu anhu had in his possession a short staff which had belonged to the Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasalla, and when he died, it was buried with him between his body and his shroud.
Imam Ahmad narrated in his Musnad that Ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Unays reported that his father ‘Abdullah ibn Unays RadhiAllahu anhu said: ‘The Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam called me over and said, “I heard that Khalid ibn Sufyan ibn Nubayh is gathering people against me to attack me. He is now in ‘Urna (near Makkah); so go and kill him.” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, describe him for me so I will recognize him.” He said, “When you see him, you will feel your skin crawl.” So I strapped on my sword and went out an found him encamped at ‘Urna surrounded by his women. When the time for the afternoon prayer came, I saw him, and I felt my skin crawl just as the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam had said it would. So I approached him; and I feared that something would happen between me and him that would cause me to miss the prayer, so I prayed as I walked towards him, nodding my head in place of bowing and prostrating. When I had reached him, he said, “Who are you?” I said, “I am an Arab who has heard of you, and heard that you are gathering a force against this man, and so I have come.” He said, “Indeed, that is my aim.” So I walked with him for a while until I was able to draw my sword and slay him. Then I withdrew, and left the women to wail over him. Once I returned to the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam, he saw me and said, “A face marked with success!” I said, “I slew him, O Messenher of Allah.” “Indeed you did,” he replied. Then the messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam stood up with me and took me into his room, and gave me a staff, saying, “Keep this with you, O ‘Abdullah ibn Unays.” So I took it out to the people, and they aske3d me what it was. I said, “The Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam gave it to me, and told me to keep it.” They said, “Perhaps you should go back to the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam and ask him what it is for.” So I went back and said, “Messenger of Allah, why did you give me this staff?” He SallAllahu alaihi wasallam answered, “It shall be a sign between you and I on the Day of Resurrection; a day when only the fewest of people will have something to lean on.” ‘ So ‘Abdullah attached the staff to his sword, and kept it with him until he died, whereupon he instructed that it be wrapped with him inside his shroud, and buried with him.
The Companions Lit their Way Using a Staff Given to Them by The Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam:
Qatada ibn al-Nu’man RadhiAllahu anhu said, ‘I went out one dark night and thought that I might go to the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam and keep the night vigil with him and keep him company, so I went. ‘When I came to the mosque, the sky erupted in lightning, and the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam saw me and said, “O Qatada, what are you doing?” I said, “My mother and father be your ransom, I wanted to keep you company, O Messenger of Allah.” he said, “Take this staff and protect yourself with it, and when you go out it will cast light ten (paces) before you, and ten (paces) behind you.” Then he said to me, “When you enter your house, you will see something like a rough stone, so smite it before it speaks, for it is a demon.” So I struck it until it fled from my house.’

If your eyes are dry of tears, then seek
To borrow the eye of one whose tears flow;
But who can lend you an eye with which to weep:
Have you ever seen an eye being lent for weeping?

Weather….patterns all over the planet are in a constant state of change as written by Allah Ta’ala, so here being no exception. The rains do seem late and the over cast days seem to be continuing for longer than what I recall in the past. Allahu ‘Alum re all the whys and wherefores! He wants our obedience and trust with regard to all conditions. May we be constantly improving these in His eyes and begging for His guidance, Ameen.
